Code of Conduct and Safety Policy for AMKA events
Purpose
To promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for participants at AMKA events.
Scope
This policy applies to all members and guests.
Standards of Conduct are the following:
Respect and Boundaries
• Treat all participants with respect and maintain appropriate personal boundaries.
• Interactions with minors must be age-appropriate, respectful, and conducted in open settings.
• Stop any interaction immediately if a child, parent/guardian, or participant expresses discomfort.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
• Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.
• Parents/guardians should communicate any boundaries or concerns regarding interactions with their children.
• Concerns should be raised promptly and directly when appropriate and safe to do so.
Reporting Concerns
• Concerns may be raised directly with the individual involved, when appropriate and safe, or reported to event organizers or committee members.
• Reports should be made respectfully and in good faith.
• Harassment, threats, abusive conduct, or accusatory language to AMKA President or committee members is not acceptable and may result in disciplinary action.
Shared Responsibility
• Creating a safe environment is a shared responsibility of the organization, and all attendees.
• All adults are expected to model respectful and appropriate behavior. Respect privacy and avoid gossip, rumors, or speculation about sensitive matters

Auditory Respect: Kindly maintain silence for the duration of the performances.
Area Maintenance: Participants are requested to maintain cleanliness of the venue and deposit all refuse exclusively within the designated trash receptacles.
Organizational Role
• The organization's role is limited to maintaining a collegial environment at AMKA events and implementing reasonable safety measures.
• The organization does not assume custodial responsibility for minors and does not determine legal wrongdoing.
Compliance
• Failure to follow this policy may result in warnings, removal from events, or restrictions on future participation.
• By registering for or participating in organization events, the primary registrant agrees to adhere to these guidelines and assumes full responsibility for compliance by all accompanying family members.
